Dynamic Data-Driven Process Optimization
Navigance, a young corporate start-up within Clariant, is seeking a (Senior) Data Scientist (m/f/d) for our Munich office or fully remote from anywhere within Germany.
Together with a young and high-performing team, you will develop our optimization and predictive maintenance product, based on industrial IoT data from our customers’ production plants. You will contribute to the extension of our existing modelling toolset, and also work on customer specific projects.
Responsibilities:
• Develop hybrid models to optimize performance and stability of chemical plants.
• We can always do better! Analyze our customers’ time series sensor data to optimize processes.
• Extend & innovate the data driven cloud services and analytics tools for implementation in our customer portal.
• Collect & combine data from different customer sources and develop approaches to compare different production plants.
• Collaboration is key! Work closely with other process experts, and give advice for specific topics in our customers’ plants.
• Innovation makes a difference! Contribute to innovation within the data science team, and across software development, product & sales teams.
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in chemistry, physics, or an engineering field related to chemical processes.
• 2+ years of industry experience.
• Professional experience in data-driven analysis, modelling, optimization and automatization, and profound knowledge in statistical and machine learning methods, ideally in the chemical (catalysts) industry.
• Very good experience with Python and with common toolkits like pandas, TensorFlow or scikit-learn; experience with software engineering tools like GitHub etc. is an advantage.
• Experience in visualizing insights and presenting value derived from data.
• Inventive, strong customer orientation and entrepreneurship in bringing together customer needs and solutions.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Open-minded and communicative personality.
